Board
the Akademik Ioffe at the port of Ushuaia,
Argentina, the world's southernmost city. Sail out
through the Beagle Channel to the Drake Passage. |
Day 2 –
4 |
Sail
across the Drake Passage, one of the roughest,
stormiest seas on Earth. Cross the Antarctic Circle,
66'33S. |
Day 5 |
Marguerite Bay and Horseshoe Island. Explore an
abandoned British research station. |
Day 6 |
Torgerson Island |

Lemare
Channel, Hidden Bay, Jugla Point
Port
Lockroy, a British research station, now a museum.
The station, which now includes a gift shop and the
smallest post office in the world population-wise,
is overseen by two young British women
there on a four-month stint, all by themselves. |
